Steps to Fix QuickBooks Error H505

Step 1: Turn on Hosting for the Company File

1. From the desktop of your computer right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon and select Run as Administrator.
2. Go to the company information window by pressing F2 on your keyboard.
3. Now from the left bottom corner of the screen select the local server information and choose the files to be hosted for the local network.

Step 2: Restart the QuickBooks Database Server Manager Service

1. Press and hold the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window and type the command services.msc in the text box.
2. Click the OK button or press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Now find and right-click the QuickBooks service appearing as QuickBooks19, QuickBooks18, QuickBooks17 or QuickBooks16.
4. Select Restart and exit the Services window.

Step 3: Remove Network Configuration (.ND) File

1. Open Windows File Manager and from the search bar at the top search for files with .nd extension.
